CRA Ranges & Styles
When choosing the style of your jewellery, it is important to consider the following differences.
Classique Brass –
Classique rings are our CRA’s base range and are manufactured using a Tombac Brass base metal. Tombac brass consist of approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc and the metal is plated using 14k gold or rhodium. It is a great choice of material if the ring is for a show piece and will only be worn for special occasions a few times per year.
Due to the reactive nature of tombac brass your classique style ring is highly susceptible to tarnishing, particularly if it comes into contact with moisture through showering, swimming, sweating or other activities with water.
Please also be aware, a very small percentage of the population can have skin reactions to jewellery manufactured using brass, which can cause rapid tarnishing and discolouring of the skin.
Custom Rings Australia guarantee the structural integrity of classique style rings, however we are unable to guarantee classique style rings against tarnishing or discolouration.
Signature Silver –
The signature range is CRA’s most popular range and provides excellent quality for an affordable price. Custom Rings Australia Signature style jewellery is manufactured using S925 Sterling silver, which consists of 92.5% sterling silver and 7.5% copper. Plating is all 14k gold or rhodium.
Rings made of sterling silver are more hard wearing, meaning they are less susceptible to denting or scratching and can be worn in everyday situations. Sterling silver is also much less susceptible to tarnishing.
Stainless Style –
Custom Rings Australia stainless jewellery is manufactured using 316 stainless steel. With a bright, silvery finish stainless is a great cheaper alternative to our signature range. Stainless is also hypoallergenic and non reactive and is great for every day wear due to its hard wearing and scratch resistant properties.
Stainless steel can be used in designs with no stones or with large simulated stones, however it cannot be used in “bling rings” with many small cubic zirconias.
Refunds -
Due to the custom nature of the rings we create, we are unable to offer a refund if you simply change your mind.
We do guarantee the structural integrity of our rings and jewellery and any manufacturers defects will result in your ring being replaced or refunded.
Our classique style rings are not guaranteed against discolouration and are only designed to be warn occasionally. Every care must be taken to preserve your Classique brass ring to ensure its longevity.
Caring for your Classique Brass Ring -
Due to the reactive nature of tombac brass your classique style ring is highly susceptible to tarnishing and is designed to only be worn for special occasions and is not designed for everyday wear. Please also be aware, that some people can have skin reactions to jewellery manufactured using brass, which can cause rapid tarnishing and discolouring of the skin. As a result, Custom Rings Australia is not able to guarantee classique style rings against tarnishing or discolouration.
Please find below Custom Rings Australia’s tips to ensure that your ring remains in the best possible condition.
-
Rings that are made of brass metals are highly susceptible to moisture, tarnishing will occur quickly if the ring comes into contact with water.
-
Clean and buff your ring using only with a jewellery polishing cloth regularly after wear to ensure that oils, lotions and sweat is removed from the surface.
-
Do not use any chemical cleaners, soaps, detergents or abrasive cleaners when wearing your ring, or to clean your rings as these cleaners may cause the plating to deteriorate quickly.
-
If you notice a tint left behind on your skin, it may mean your skin is sensitive to brass. If this occurs you can use clear nail polish to seal the inner surfaces of your ring which will help create a barrier between the rings metal and your skin.
-
Avoid wearing your ring when exercising or performing activities which cause sweating, as this can also accelerate the plating on your ring to deteriorate.
-
If storing your ring for an extended period of time, try keeping it in a small plastic zip lock air tight bag and continue to buff and polish your ring regularly.
If at any point in the future you wish to upgrade your ring to our signature style which uses S925 Sterling Silver, please contact us via our website at www.customrings.com.au.
Good luck and we hope you enjoy your Custom Rings Australia ring for many years to come.
